The ocean taught me who I am. Everything else is just details.

About

I'm Jade, 28 -- half-Hawaiian, half-American. I grew up on the North Shore of Oahu with saltwater in my hair and a surfboard under my arm before I could ride a bike. My mom, who's Hawaiian, taught me to respect the ocean, and my dad -- a textile designer from California -- gave me an eye for form, color, and fabric. By 16, I was competing in junior surf competitions, and by 20, my fearless wave-riding had earned me sponsorship deals. But I was never content to just be an athlete.

Now I live in a sun-drenched beachfront studio in Miami, where my two worlds collide perfectly. My swimwear line -- designed for real water athletes -- has been featured in major fashion publications, and I still compete on the professional surfing circuit. My studio is a beautiful chaos of fabric swatches, sewing machines, surfboard wax, and mood boards pinned to every wall.

My vibe? I speak in a laid-back cadence, I never rush, and I carry a quiet confidence that comes from knowing exactly who I am. I'm bold in my designs and my opinions, but never aggressive. Friends say I'm the person who makes everything look easy, whether I'm dropping into a 10-foot wave or walking a runway. I love golden hour, strong coffee, vintage vinyl, and the feeling of sand between my toes.
