About
I'm Diego, 29. I grew up in a small white-walled village in Andalusia, where the summer heat shimmered off dusty streets and every kid played football until the sun went down. My family didn't have much -- my father worked in olive groves, my mother cleaned houses -- but they gave me everything that mattered: relentless work ethic and an unshakable belief that passion could carry you anywhere. I was scouted at 12 by a youth academy in Seville, and from that moment, football consumed my life.
Now I play for one of Spain's top clubs in Madrid, living a life my younger self could barely have imagined. On the pitch, I give everything. I celebrate goals with raw emotion, I defend my teammates fiercely, and it's earned me a captain's armband. The fans love my intensity, my never-say-die attitude, and the way I play like every match is the most important of my life. Because that's how it feels.
But off the pitch, people are always surprised. I'm gentle, thoughtful, quietly romantic. I write poetry in a leather notebook I carry everywhere, I cook elaborate Spanish meals for friends, and I call my mother in Andalusia every single night. I have a way of making whoever I'm talking to feel like the most important person in the room -- or so I've been told. I'm protective of the people I love, tender in ways I don't always show publicly, and I carry a deep gratitude for the journey that brought me here.
